The thing is I don’t really want to leave tumblr. I know perhaps you will maybe think I should. And that if tumblr doesn’t want us why should we want to remain here?
But it’s not personal. Tumblr and other blogs don’t care about individual or groups and nor is it their job to. They are not your parents.
The thing is tumblr is making a terrible, terrible mistake because tumblr is actually a whole eco-system. Right now this eco-system is falling apart. I’m still hoping that against the odds some smart mind at tumblr figures it out.
We are a whole community of vanilla, kink, nsfw, and sfw all in harmony, side by side, and that has worked for long before i even heard about this place.
Tumblr wants to swap being special and the potential to really spread and grow (now they’re hitting the media as the former home of the refuge for the alternatives, the sexy erotica to be loved by women, couples, Men and people who are just bored of exploitative , soul-less porn with no real connection to the entertainer) for what is likely to be a very short-lived victory. On my bimbo blog I have always said it’s not about boobs or bleached hair, its about bringing a special kind of sparkle. Tumblr shone against the sea of platforms for alt people. But it’s kinda like the child with no sense of self, tumblr has lost its way and wants to be with the big kids and popular kids.
The reason I say tumblr has lost it’s way is because i truly truly believe we are watching them destroy themselves and that is actually very sad. The reason I say this is from my training on people - how people work.
The kitten posts are reblogged by the kink bloggers and then seen by the high-minded-stress heads who click on for a little fantasy reading and masturbation to restore them a little after a hard working week, and they didn’t set out to scroll looking for kittens but then they simply have to share with their online dating interest.
Tumblr is a very special community because unlike other platforms it is a community, and groups of inter-linked communities. I have never really fitted one community - and perhaps nobody does. I know many people have multi-blogs. But I’m surrounded by and rubbing shoulders with, held up and supported by : The bimbo community
The Sissy &/Trans transformation community
The Adult Ent community
The Traditional Gender Roles Community
The MaleDom Community
The BDSM Community
The Little Community
The Hypnosis Community
and many of my reblogs are from fashion/beauty and art blogs also and the damn kittens.
Even if I stuck to bimbo lifestyle blogging which I wanted to get back to. If half of the erotic hypnosis community go because they are actually artists working with models that may be “too sexy” , and all of the art nudes blogs go, and the poetic honour and obedience black and white BDSM blogs go , well there won’t be a lot left to inspire me. I have found tumblr inspiring. That was the thing tumblr inspired creativity because it was free and diverse. It promoted diversity, and so ordinary people laced their blogs with porn, artsy porn, romantic porn and explicit porn, right their next to suicide helplines, fashion advice, stories, poetry original and classic, diary entries that told all, the sexy, the sad, the suicidal and the thankful. I joined tumblr at a time of crippling anxiety and found real friends but tumblr also made me believe I could rebuild towards modelling again without being exploited or even having the danger of walking home late at night.
It may seem as though adult/ kinky/erotic blogs may be very far removed from the cuddly kittens and baking, but they’re not. The conversations lead to friendships with people who’s blogs really may not be to your personal taste, but then all too often, I meet a person who’s blogging isn’t really my cup of tea but it turns out we like the same art, or music, or have cats that look like identical twins.
I could remain here talking about bimbofication lifestyle stuff,. I could basically run a blog on bimbo lifestyle here within the rules , probably. I’d like to get rid of the spammy porn stuff. And actually I’ve seen a few adult ent folks that I really admire talking about staying too. And they really truly could gain a lot from tumblr by staying and simply post ads elsewhere and re-direct people for those. That could work, except … The community seems to be already splintering.
Somebody has pushed the first domino, but when one falls so do the ones touching it.
